A fruit seller purchased 20 kg of apples at Rs. 50 per kg. Out of these, 5 % of the apples were found to be rotten. If he sells the remaining apples at Rs. 60 per kg, then his ___ is ___ %.

We have, price for per kg apples = Rs. 50
Total purchased apples = 20 kg
Since, 5% were rotten, so good apples = 20 kg - 5 % of 20 kg (rotten)
=205100×20=201=19 kg
Also, he sells 19 kg apples at Rs. 60 per kg.
Total selling price =19×60=Rs.1140
Cost price was 20 kg apples =20×50=Rs.1000
Profit = SP - CP = 1140 - 1000 = Rs. 140
Now, profit % =ProfitCP×100%=1401000×100%=14010=14%
So, his profit is 14 %.
