In racing over a given distance d at uniform speed, A can beat B by 30 meters, B can beat C by 20 meters and A can beat C by 48 meters. Find 'd' in meters.

The correct option is A 300
The total distance (d)

Let A position is at destination

Then B position from A = 30 meters ( from destination)

C position from A = 48 meters ( from destination)

But C position w. r. t B = 20 meters (given)

Which contradicts means their is difference of 2 meters.

From 30 meters before destination B has to cover 2 meters in every 30 meters.

To make it equal to 20 meters as given 2 x 10 = 20 meters

Therefore, 30 x 10 = 300 meters
