Solution

The correct option is B (i) 7 (ii) Tens
Say: On our screen, we have the arrangement of 3 numbers at three places of Hundreds, Tens, and Ones.
They reshuffle, and they are now arranged like this: 6 sits on the Hundreds chair, 7 on the Tens, and 8 on the Ones.

Steps:
The new arrangement is: 6 sits on the Hundreds chair, 7 on the Tens, and 8 on the Ones.
The new number is 678.
From 768 to 678, the place values of 7 and 6 have changed. 7 Hundreds is 7 Tens, 6 Tens is 6 Hundreds. 8 remains as it is.
Similarly, Hundreds and Tens places’ face values have changed.
Here, 7’s place value has decreased as it has come down from 700 to 70.
Similarly, Tens place had 6 before, and now it has 7. Thus, its face value has increased.
Hence, option A is the correct answer.

Error Analysis Question:
Q: The face value of 6 has increased as it has moved to the Hundreds place. Am I correct?
A: No! 6 in itself is the face value, first at Tens place and now at Hundreds place. 6’s place value has increased from 60 to 600.
