In some plants, where flowering occurs more than once, what would you call the inter-flowering period- juvenile or mature?

Solution

Inter-flowering period:

  1. Some plants undergo flowering more than once in their lifespan.
  2. The time period between these two consecutive flowering phases is referred to as the juvenile phase.
  3. The inter-flowering period represents the juvenile phase as the plant though reaches maturity before flowering once, but needs to develop and gain maturity again for the next round of flowering.
  4. This is because the plants are unable to show reproductive maturity/ flowering in this middle period.
