In text book they have given meristmatic tissues grow and divide through out their life but grass in some areas stop growing after certain height even if we don't cut it . Why does it happens?

Grass stops growing in certain areas during winter as it requires certain temperature for the meristematic tissues to divide ( 40 Farenheit ) and during winter when temperature is low it stops growing . also lack of water and sunlight are contributing factors
