In th figure, ABCD is a parallelogram, AE $\perp$ DC and CF $\perp$ AD. IF AB = 16 cm, AE = 8 cm and CF = 10 cm, Find AD.

In || gm ABCD,
base AB = 16 cm
and altitude
AE = 8 cm

$\therefore$ Area of parallelogram = Base $\times$ Altitude $=AB\times AE$ $=16\times 8=128c{m}^2$

Now area of || gm $ABCD=128c{m}^2$

and Altitude CF = 10 cm

$\therefore baseAD=\frac{Area}{Altitude}=\frac{128}{10}=12.8cm$
