other $\Rightarrow 2 x + y = 9 \Rightarrow y = 9 - 2 x$
and $3 x - 2 y = 17$
$\Rightarrow 3 x - 18 + 4 x = 17$
$\Rightarrow 7 x = 35 \Rightarrow x = 5$
$\Rightarrow y = - 1$
