In the adjoining figure is shown the time- distance (t-s) graph of acyclist. Find out from the graph:
(i) maximum speed of the cyclist,(ii) average speed in the whole journey.

In time 0h to 2h displacement is 20kmSpeed =202=10kmh1

In time 3h to 5h displacement is 20kmSpeed =1553=7.5kmh1

Average speed = total distance/ total time =35km5h=7kmh1

Hence, maximum speed 10kmh1 and average speed is 7kmh1
