In the adjoining figure, show that ABCD is a parallelogram.

From the figure

ΔABD and ΔBCD is clear that

AB=CD5cm (given)

AB=AB (common side)

and

ABD=CDB(alternate angle)

so, ABCBCD (SAS fule)

So, AD=BC(CPCT)

Hence AB=CD

AD=BC

Opposite sides are equal and parallel.

So it is a parallelogram.
