If an a.c source V=V0sinωt is applied across an inductance and capacitance in parallel, current in inductance will lag the applied voltage while across the capacitor will lead
IL=VXLsin(ωtπ2)=1.2cosωt
IC=VXCsin(ωt+π2)=1.0cosωt
so, the current drawn from the a.c. generator is I=IL+IC
=1.2cosωt+1.0cosωt=0.2cosωt
