Answer :

Given : Area of trapezium = 28 cm²

And one parallel side = 8 cm and altitude ( Height ) = 4 cm

Let another parallel side = x

We know formula for area of trapezium :

Area of trapezium = $\frac{\mathrm{Sum}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{parallel}\mathrm{sides}}{2}\times \mathrm{Height}$ , So we get

$$\begin{gathered} \frac{8+x}{2}\times 4=28 \\ \Rightarrow \left[8+x\right]\times 2=28 \\ \Rightarrow \left[8+x\right]=\frac{28}{2} \\ \Rightarrow 8+x=14 \\ \mathbf{\Rightarrow }\mathbf{}\mathit{x}\mathbf{}\mathbf{=}\mathbf{6} \end{gathered}$$

So,

Length of another parallel side = 6 cm ( Ans )
