Free body diagram of the two bodies are as follows


Let us assume that the two blocks move together with common acceleration towards left is ac.
Then, ac=f22=20f4
or, 2f4=20f
or, f=8 N
Maximum friction between the two blocks can be
fmax=μmAg=(0.5)(2)(10)=10 N
Since, f<fmax, it means our assumtion is right
Therefore, friction force between the two blocks is f=8 N
