Solution

Single Fixed Pulley:

  1. A pulley that has a fixed axis of rotation is known as a single fixed pulley.
  2. Due to the fixed axis of rotation, the load and effort are the same.
  3. It is used to change the direction of effort from upwards to downwards such that the load moves in a direction opposite to that of effort.
  4. Hence, in the case of the single fixed pulley, the load moves opposite to the direction of effort.
