In the chapter on nutrition, you learnt that the small intestine contains villi which help in the absorption of nutrients. Where do the nutrients go after absorption?
Nutrients enter into the bloodstream.
The villi are surrounded by blood vessels. This helps nutrients to enter into the bloodstream from the small intestine. The blood then carries these nutrients to the liver where it is sorted. The blood again transports these nutrients to the rest of the body with the help of the heart.
