(i) total resistance
(ii) current shown by the ammeter A.

1. Resistance of 2Ω and 3Ω in series

$R_A=r_1+r_2$ , $2+3=5$
resultant in parallel

$R=\frac{5\times 5}{5+5}=\frac{25}{10}=2.5$

2. Given:

Potential difference, V = 4 V

Circuit resistance R= 2.5Ω

Circuit current, I =?:

From Ohm's law,

I = $\frac{V}{R}$

= $\frac{4}{2.5}$ = 1.6 A

So, Ammeter reads 1.6 A current.
