If the load current in the circuit is 180 A, the peak value of current through main thyristor ( $T_{M}$ ) will be ______ A.

Peak value of current through capacitor,
$I_{P} = V_{s} \sqrt{\frac{C}{L}}$

$I_{P} = 230 \sqrt{\frac{40 \times 10^{- 6}}{20 \times 10^{- 6}}} = 325.27 A$

Peak value of current through main thyristor,

$I_{T M (p e a k)} = I_{0} + I_{P}$

$= 180 + 325.27 = 505.27 A$
