In the circuit shown in fig., the emf of each battery is E=12 volt and the capacitances are $C_1=2.0\mu F$ and $C_2=3.0\mu F$.Find the charges which flow along the paths 1 , 2 , 3 when key K is pressed.

After key K is closed, potential across $C_1$ is $E_1=12V$, and across $C_2$ is $E_2=12V$

So $Q_1=E_1{C}_1=24\mu C$, and $Q_2=E_2{C}_2=24\mu C$

Along path 1, charge $+24\mu C$ flows.

Along path 2, charge $-24\mu C$ flows.

Along path 3, total o,f $24\mu C-24\mu C=0C$ flows.
