In the circuit shown in fig., the emf of each battery is E=12 volt and the capacitances are C1=2.0μF and C2=3.0μF.Find the charges which flow along the paths 1 , 2 , 3 when key K is pressed.

After key K is closed, potential across C1 is E1=12V, and across C2 is E2=12V

So Q1=E1C1=24μC, and Q2=E2C2=24μC
Along path 1, charge +24μC flows.
Along path 2, charge 24μC flows.
Along path 3, total o,f 24μC24μC=0C flows.
