When S2 is closed


Applying KVL
E+6IR+IR=0
I=E7R
V2=(E7R)6R=6E7=0.85E

When both S1 and S2 are closed


As 6R,3R are in parallel, their effective resistance is 2R
Applying KVL
E+2IR+IR=0
I=E3R
V3=E3R×2R=2E3=0.66E
