In the coming years, skin cancer will be more common due to:
Depletion of ozone layer
The ozone layer protects life on earth from the harmful UV radiations of the sun; hence on its depletion exposure to UV radiations will enhance. This will lead to various adverse effects and will cause skin related disorders. The harmful effects of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation can be classified as acute or chronic. The acute effects include mainly sunburn and tanning. The chronic effects of UV exposure can be much more serious, even life-threatening, and include premature ageing of the skin, suppression of the immune system, damage to the eyes and skin cancer.
Although skin disorders can occur due to air and water pollution, depletion of the ozone layer (exposure to UV rays) will play a bigger and a direct role in causing skin cancer.
