In the diagram, bulbs are filled with same gas. The pressure in 1 L bulb is 1.5 atm and pressure in 4 L bulb is 2 atm. If the temperature remains constant and valve between the two bulbs is opened, then what is final pressure. If the volume of connecting tube is negligible?

Total moles remains conserved
(nA+nB)before=(nA+nB) after
volume of the bulb1=1 L
pressure of the bulb1=1.5 atm
number of moles in bulb1=1.5×1R×T
volume of the bulb2=4 L
pressure of the bulb2=2 atm
number of moles in bulb2=2×4R×T
Hence total moles =
1.5×1R×T+2×4RT=Pf(5)RT

1.5+8=5Pf
Pf=1.9 atm
