In the figure, ABCD is a parallelogram. Sides AB and BC are equal to 15 cm and 6 cm, respectively. If DF = 4 cm, what is the value of BE?
Given
BC = 6 cm
AD = BC (Parallel sides of a parallelogram are equal)
Area (ABCD) = Base × Height
= AB × DF = AD × BE
AB × DF = 15 cm × 4 cm
= 60 sq. cm
AD × BE = 60 sq. cm
⇒BE × 6 cm = 60 sq. cm
⇒BE = 10 cm
