In the figure $\angle POR$ and $\angle QOR$ from a linear pair if $x-y={80}^0$ then find the value of x and y.

Since $\angle POR$ and $\angle QOR$ form a ;inear pair.

$\therefore \angle QOR+\angle POR=180°$

$\Rightarrow x+y=180°.....\left(1\right)$

Also,

$x-y=80°.....\left(2\right)\left(\text{Given}\right)$

Adding equation $\left(1\right)\&\left(2\right)$, we have

$2x=260°$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{260°}{2}=130°$

Substituting the value of $x$ in equation $\left(1\right)$, we have

$130°+y=180°$

$\Rightarrow y=180°-130°=50°$
