Let r is the inner radius of circle = 7cm

Here θ=40°

Step 2: Calculate area of shaded region

Area of shaded region is

=360°-θ360°×πR2-r2=360°-40360°×π142-72=320°360°×π142-72=89×227196-49=89×227×147=12323=410.67cm2

Hence the required area of region is 410.67cm2
