As the given figure is a square we can clearly see that both the unshaded and the shaded regions form a rectangle.

Now, we have to find the area of the unshaded region.

Consider the unshaded region,
length of the rectangle = 20 cm
breadth of the rectangle =20 10 = 10 cm

Now, area of the unshaded rectangle
= length × breadth
= (20 × 10) cm2=200 cm2
