In the given figure, both the triangles, ABC and ABD lie within the same set of parallel lines, l1 and l2 and also have the same base, AB.
Area of a triangle = 12×(base)×(height)

The heights of both the triangles, ABC and ABD, will be the same, as both lie between the same set of parallel lines. Their base is also the same, AB.
The areas of both the triangles, ABC and ABD will be the same.
Hence, area of triangle,ABD = area of triangle ABC = 16m2
