The correct option is C 14 N
Let us consider 2 kg and 3kg as the system as they are having same coefficient of friction and in contact with the surface.
So, the FBDs of the system can be drawn as shown

From the FBD we have the acceleration of the system as
a=(Supporting force-opposing force)Total mass
opposing force=Friction force (f)=μ(2g)+μ(3g)=5μg
a=5gf10=5g(μ5g)10
a=5g(1μ)10=5g(10.4)10=3 m/s2

Now, we have FBD of 2 kg mass

So, from FBD we have,
Tf=ma T=f+ma
T=μN+ma=0.4(2g)+2a
T=0.4×20+2×3=14 N
