Given:
Source voltage, V=7.98 V
Resistor 1, R1=20.5 Ω
Resistor 2, R2=1.3 Ω
Effective resistance in series, Reff=R1+R2
Reff=20.5+1.3=21.8 Ω
In series combination, the same current flows through all the resistors. So, the current through the resistor R1 is the same as the total current in the circuit.
Current, I=VReff=7.9821.8=0.36605 A.
