We know that the distance between a point $P (x_{1}, y_{1}, z_{1})$ and a plane Ax+By+Cz=D is

$d = \frac{A x_{1} + B y_{1} + C z_{1} - D}{\sqrt{A^{2} + B^{2} + C^{2}}}$ ...(i)

The given points is (2,3,-5) and the plane is x+2y-2z-9=0

$∴$ From Eq.(i),

$d = \frac{| 2 + 2 \times 3 - 2 \times (- 5) - 9 |}{\sqrt{1^{2} + 2^{2} + (- 2^{2})}} = \frac{| 2 + 6 + 10 - 9 |}{\sqrt{1 + 4 + 4}} = \frac{9}{\sqrt{9}} = \frac{9}{3} = 3 u n i t s$
