In a food chain, consumers are categorised into three groups:

Primary consumers
Secondary consumers
Tertiary consumers

The primary consumer is the grasshopper, feeding on grass which are the producers. Secondary consumers are frog. Tertiary consumers are the snake and the last consumer is the eagle.

According to the ten percent law, only 10% is passed on as usable biological energy to the next trophic level. Here, the frog acquires the more energy than the tertiary consumer and less than the primary consumer.
