In the given circuit diagram calculate the current I2 through the resistor of 10Ω.

Solution

Between point B and C the resistances are in parallel combination. So voltage difference remains the same .
V=IR
I1×5=I2×10
I1=2I2
and equivalent resistance,R=5×105+10=103
Current I =12R=12×310=3.6A
I=I1+I2
I=3I2
Current through 10Ω is I2=I3=3.63=1.2A
