Given,

Inductive reactance $L=0.1H$

Resistance $R=40\Omega$

Input voltage $V=400\sin 300t$

Impedance $Z=\sqrt{R^2+{\left(\omega L\right)}^2}=\sqrt{{40}^2+{(300\times 0.1)}^2}=50\Omega$

Maximum value of current, $I_{max}=\frac{V_{max}}{Z}=\frac{400}{50}=8A$

RMS Current, $I_{rms}=\frac{I_{max}}{\sqrt{2}}=\frac{8}{\sqrt{2}}=4\sqrt{2}A$
