Question

In the given circuit with the steady current, the potential drop across the capacitor is found to be Vx volts. Find the value of x (Give integer value)

Open in App
Solution

At the steady-state condition, no current will flow through the capacitor C.

Current in the outer circuit is ,

I=2VV2R+R=V3R

Moving along the loop from A to B we get,

VAV+V+IR=VB

VBVA=IR=(V3R)R=V3

Accepted answer : 3.
Note: In this problem, charge stored in the capacitor can also be asked, which is equal to [q=CV3] with positive charge on B side and negative on A side because VB>VA
