Alternate interior angles are the angles which are inside the parallel lines and on alternate sides of the transversal

Alternate angles formed by parallel lines are equal in measure.

$\therefore$ ∠BPQ = ∠PQC
⇒ ∠BPR + ∠RPQ = ∠PQC
⇒ k° + 70° = 130°
⇒ k = 130 - 70
⇒ k = 60
