$A C = \sqrt{{A B}^{2} + {B C}^{2}}$

$A C = \sqrt{4^{2} + 3^{2}}$ = $\sqrt{25} = 5 c m .$

Since median divides the side in two parts AM = MC

So, AM = MC = 2.5 cm.
