In the given figure, ABCD is a parallelogram AE perpendicular to DC and CF perpendicular to AD if AB = 16cm AE = 8cm and CF = 10cm, then find AD.

Area of parallelogram = base \(\times\) height (height is based on which side is taken as base).
Here if DC is considered as base, then the height = AE
Hence, area of parallelogram = 16×8=128 sq cm.
Now, let us consider AD as base and corresponding height is CF = 10 cm.
AD×10=128 sq cm ×AD=12.8 cm
