Question

In the given figure, ABCD is a parallelogram of base 4 cm and height 4cm , then ar(ΔAFB) is

  1. 8 cm2
  2. 118 cm2
  3. 5 cm2
  4. 67 cm2

Solution

The correct option is A 8 cm2
Area of parallelogram ABCD = b×h
=4×4
=16cm2
In Δ ABF and \\gm ABCD, both are having AB as base and lying between the same parallel lines (AB and CD).

( Area of a triangle is half  the area of parallelogram if both are on the same base and between the same parallels).

Area of ΔAFB=12× Area of parallelogram ABCD

                              =12×16=8 cm2
