In the given figure, ABCD is a trapezium of area 24.5cm2. If ADBC,DAB=90,AD=10cm,BC=4cm and ABE is quadrant of a circle. then find the area of the shaded region.

Area of Trapezium ABCD=AB2(AD+BC)
24.5=AB2(10+4)[AreaofTrapeziumABCD=24.5AD=10,BC=4]49=AB(14)AB=3.5cm
Radius of Quadrant of circle AB = 3.5 cm
Area of Quadrant of circle =πr24
=14×227×3.5×3.59.625cm2
Area of shaded Region = Area of Trapezium - Area of Quadrant of circle
=24.59.625=14.875cm2
