In the given figure, AD is the median and DE || AB. Prove that BE is the median.

Solution

In ∆ABC, D is the mid-point of BC and DE || AB.
∴ AE = EC and DE = $\frac{1}{2}$ (AB) (By mid point theorem)
So, E is the mid point of AC.
∴ BE is the median.
