In the given figure, 𝑎 and 𝑏 are supplementary angles. If 𝑎 is greater than 𝑏, by one third of a right angle, find the value of 𝑎 and 𝑏.

If the sum of two angles = 180°, then they are called supplementary angles.


Since a and b are supplementary angles,

a + b = 180° ………………………(ii)

On substituting (i) in (ii), we get:
