In the given figure, if ACB = 30, what is the value of ACD in degrees?

Construction: Join points B and D. Since AB = AD, ABD = ADB------------1

Also, BC = CD. So, CBD = CBD-------------2

Adding 1 and 2, We get ABD + CBD = ADB + CDB

ABC = ADC-------------------3

In ABC and ADC

AB = AD (Given)

ABC = ADC (Form 3)

BC = DC (Given)

By SAS congruency condition, ABC ADC

So, ACB = ACD = 30 (Corresponding parts of congruent triangles)
