From the given figure,
Since, m is a straight line
$\Rightarrow (x+20{)}^{\circ }+{40}^{\circ }+{80}^{\circ }={180}^{\circ }$
$x+{140}^{\circ }={180}^{\circ }$
$\Rightarrow x={180}^{\circ }-{140}^{\circ }$
$x={40}^{\circ }$

Since l is a straight line
$(y+70{)}^{\circ }+{80}^{\circ }={180}^{\circ }$
$y+{150}^{\circ }={180}^{\circ }$
$y={180}^{\circ }-{150}^{\circ }$
$y={30}^{\circ }$
