In the given figure, $QP\parallel RT$, where PR is a transversal line
So, $\angle x$ and $\angle TRP$ are alternate interior angles,
$\therefore$ $\angle x={70}^{\circ }$
We know that, the sum of all angles in a triangle is equal to ${180}^{\circ }$

$\therefore \angle x+{30}^{\circ }+\angle y={180}^{\circ }$
$\Rightarrow {70}^{\circ }+{30}^{\circ }+\angle y={180}^{\circ }\Rightarrow \angle y={180}^{\circ }-{100}^{\circ }\Rightarrow \angle y={80}^{\circ }$
