In the given figure, the blocks of mass 2 kg and 3 kg are placed one over the other as shown. The surface are rough with coefficient of friction μ1=0.2,μ2=0.06. A force F=0.5t (where t is time in sec) is applied on upper block in the direction shown. The frictional force acting between 3 kg block and ground w.r.t. time will vary as

The correct option is C
The FBDs of the blocks are as shown

From the FBDs we have
N1=2g=20 N
N2=N1+3g=20+30=50 N
f1 max=μN1=(0.2)(20)=4 N
f2 max=μN2=(0.06)(50)=3 N

The two blocks will start moving when F=f2 max0.5t=3t=6 sec
Till then, friction is static in nature and increases with increase in applied force.
Then f2 will become kinetic in nature and remains constant.
