Area of shaded region = area of square (yellow region) + area of two major sector (green region)

Given- side of square = 28 cm, radius of circle = 14 cm.

Area of sector = $\frac{\theta }{360}\times \pi r^2$, where $\theta$ is the central angle of the sector

$={28}^2+2\times \frac{270}{360}\times \frac{22}{7}\times 14\times 14$

$=784+924=1708c{m}^2$
