Consider ADB and EDF,

ADB=EDF [ Vertical angles ]

ABD=FED [ Alternate angles ]

BAD=EFD [ Alternate angles ]

ADBEDF [ By ASA criterion ]

BDDE=ABFE

4y=610

6y=40

y=406=203

y=6.67cm

Similarly, ADECDE [ AA criterion ]

DEBE=DCBA

6.6710.67=x6

x=6×6.6710.67

x=3.75cm

The values of x and y are 3.75cm and

6.67cm.
