Solution

The correct option is A

;

Tension in both strings will be different. Assume tension in left string T1 and for right Tr.

Acceleration of 3kg and 2 kg will be same as they are connected by one single inextensible string.

Assume this acceleration = a

a5=a2=a --------------------------(i)

Also since 2 kg and 5 kg are connected by single inextensible string so their acceleration will be same too.

a3=a2 -----------------------(ii)

from (I) & (II)

a5=a2=a3=a

Draw Free Body Diagram write equations

T130=3a --------------------(iii)

TrT1=2a -------------------(iv)

5gTr5a ---------------------(v)

Solving (iii) & (iv) & (v) we get

50 - 30 = 10a

a = 2m/s2

substituting a in equation (iii) & (iv)

gives

T1=36N

Tr=40N
