Solution

The correct option is A 2018, Laptops

We need to find the increase in the percentage of sales of the given items in comparison to the previous years.

For 2015 (TV):

Sales in 2014 = 25 millions

Sales in 2015 = 22.5 millions

So, there is a decrease in sales by
= 25 – 22.5 = 2.5 millions

∴ Percentage decrease = decreaseTotal sale in previous year×100

=2.525×100=10%

For 2016 (TV):

Sales in 2015 = 22.5 millions

Sales in 2016 = 22.5 millions

So, there is decrease of of sales by
= 22.5 – 22.5 = 0

∴ Percentage decrease = decreaseTotal sale in previous year×100

=022.5×100=0%

For 2015 (Laptops):

Previous year sales, i.e., (2014) = 20 millions

Present year sales, i.e., (2015) = 15 millions

So, there is a decrease in sales by

= 20 – 15 = 5 millions

∴ Percentage decrease = decreaseTotal sales in previous year×100

=520×100=25%

For 2018 (Laptops):

Previous year sales, i.e., (2017) = 30 millions

Present year sales, i.e., (2018) = 20 millions

So, there is a decrease in sales by = 30 – 20 = 10 millions

∴ Percentage decrease = decreaseTotal sales in previous year×100

=1030×100=33.33%

Therefore, the highest decrease in sales for laptops occurred in 2018.
