Do you remember the definition for adsorption? If you do, then you probably know that adsorption is a surface phenomenon.
But the sugar syrup goes INSIDE the jamun for the most part doesn't it? So, there is more ABSORPTION than ADSORPTION in this case. So here we can't technically apply the terms adsorbate and adsorbent as these are mostly applicable only to the process of adsorption.
