Solution

The correct option is D light-independent reaction enzymes
The pigments responsible for photosynthesis are chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoids and xanthophyll. These pigments are present in the chloroplasts and are involved in the entrapping of light energy. The process of formation of ATP and NADPH involves the entrapping of solar energy by the pigments. This step of photosynthesis which requires light is called light dependent reaction and involves certain enzymes called light dependent reaction enzymes.

The ATP and NADPH produced by the light dependent reactions are utilised for the the second step of photosynthesis called light independent reaction. This reaction occurs in the stroma and does not involve the requirement of light energy. Thus, it is also known as dark reaction. The enzymes of dark reaction are called light independent reaction enzymes.
