Solution

The correct option is C VReRtL

Applying KCL at junction C:

i1+i2=I .........(1)

Applying KVL in loop CDEFC:

2V+Vi1R=0

i1=VR ........(2)

From (1) and (2),

i2=I+VR .....(3)

Applying KVL in loop ABFGA:

Ldi2dt+i1RV+3Vi2R=0

Using equation (3),

LdIdtVR×RV+3V(I+VR)R=0 [VR is constant]

dIdt=IRL

dII=RLdt

Integrating both side for the given limit,

II0dII=t0RLdt

At t=0, when the switch is open, the current in the circuit,

I0=VR

[ln I]IV/R=RtL

ln(IV/R)=RLt

I=VReRLt

Hence, (C) is the correct answer.
Why this question ?
Caution: This is a case of discharging LR circuit, so don't apply the condition of charging current.
Tip: Such type of question is frequently asked in the competitive exams. It enhances the concept of Kirchhoff's law and charging/ discharging current in an inductor.
